What Is The Story Behind The Jagex Runescape Game?

Apr-19-2022 PST Category: runescape

Let's face it: for the majority of the time, retro gaming should be kept to memory. Rarely are retro games that maintain their brilliance even in the harsh environment of current technology.

RuneScape is among them This is the reason Jagex was excited when it launched Old School RuneScape (OSRS) and even more thrilled as it took the switch to mobile.

If you're not aware, RuneScape is an isometric online RPG that came out in 2001. It was at the time it appeared dated, with simple 3D graphics which at first glance could be confused with that 1991 Amiga game Robin Hood Adventures.

A few years prior to World of Warcraft, RuneScape was one of the very first massive-scale MMORPGs and holds the Guinness World Record for being the largest and often updated online gaming.

beautiful years

An epic fantasy, RuneScape takes place in a medieval fantasy realm called Gielinor and is split into several kingdoms cities, regions, and provinces. It's so big that you must travel between them via boat or with magic.

The idea is to move about, take quests and kill NPCs and trade with them, as well as build up OSRS gold. There aren't any other stories than the ones you write yourself or those shared by the community members you meet on the journey.

In the past, RuneScape has been gradually improved with smoother, more contemporary 3D graphics however, it's not to all players' tastes. That's the reason Jagex conducted an online poll in 2013 asking gamers if the idea was good to restore RuneScape in line with its classic roots. The result was a clear yes.

We'd like to express our gratitude to the players who took part in our survey and Jagex naturally in the form of Old School RuneScape, a wonderfully nostalgic throwback to the game's simpler and cleaner version of 2007.
