The Top DPS Classes in WoW Classic Season of Discovery

The Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft has brought about a significant shift in the class meta within the Classic Era. As adventurers venture into the formidable Blackfathom Deeps dungeon-turned-Raid, the true power of the rune-empowered classes is gradually unveiled. Let us delve into the rankings of every DPS class and explore their strengths and weaknesses in this exciting new season.

At the bottom of the rankings, we find the Priest class. While they possess potent runes such as Homunculi and Penance, their true potential only unfolds once they attain level 40 and acquire Shadowform. Without this transformative ability, which grants a 15 percent increase to shadow damage, their numbers fall short, making them the weakest damaging class in the game for now. However, it is anticipated that their position will improve when Phase 2 of the Season of Discovery arrives.

Next up, we have the Shaman class, masters of the elements. Although they exhibit promise with runes like Lava Burst and Overload, they unfortunately fall slightly behind other classes. Their damage output heavily relies on the weapons they wield, and the current absence of one-handed axes as drops in Blackfathom Deeps limits their potential. With the acquisition of stronger weapons in the future, Shamans can ascend to become formidable adversaries.

The Mage class, particularly Frost mages, appeared promising with the introduction of new inscription runes. However, they ultimately failed to live up to expectations, ranking as the weakest specialization within the class and among the lowest overall. Nevertheless, both Arcane and Fire specializations hold a relatively decent position, with negligible differences in damage output. The level 25 cap hampers Mages, as they lack crucial talents that strengthen their performance compared to other less talent-dependent classes.

Warlocks, the masters of demonic magic, flourish in the Season of Discovery. Empowered by their new runes, Destruction Warlocks employing Lake of Fire, Incinerate, and Chaos Bolt achieve significant damage output, positioning themselves as the strongest caster class in this season. However, their drawback lies in a lack of area-of-effect (AOE) damage, as they excel in single-target encounters but fall behind when faced with packs of mobs.

Retribution Paladins shine brightly in the Season of Discovery, owing to their incredible rune combo consisting of Divine Storm, Crusader Strike, and Exorcist. This combination propels them to the top five overall in terms of damage output. Moreover, Paladins benefit greatly from Druids' Wild Strikes, maximizing the potential of their two-handed weapons. They prove particularly potent in AOE fights.

Druids, known for their versatility, are indispensable in any raid group. Their exceptional utility greatly strengthens the damage output of the entire team. Moreover, Druids themselves can dish out remarkably high damage, thanks to the Savage Roar, Wild Strikes, and Mangle rune combination, which currently stands as the most potent available. Druids exemplify the synergy between damage and utility.

Warriors, usually requiring more levels to reach their full potential, surprise many in the Season of Discovery. Empowered by powerful runes and aided by Druids' utility, Warriors have become a force to be reckoned with. Equipping the largest two-handed weapon available and utilizing Raging Blow, Consumed by Rage, and Wild Strikes runes, Warriors emerge as top performers in single-target damage. In the most optimal scenarios, Warriors boast the highest damage ceiling in this season.

Rogues share similarities with Warriors, relying on Wild Strikes and Mangle to unleash their true potential. Once equipped with these tools, Rogues can deliver astounding amounts of damage in single-target encounters. Deadly Brew, Envenom, and Saber Slash serve as their strongest runes, enabling them to rival Warriors for the highest damage numbers achievable in the Season of Discovery.

Topping the charts is the Hunter class, which has remained resilient despite ongoing balance adjustments. Hunters possess the ability to reach the damage ceiling achieved by Rogues and Warriors while maintaining self-sufficiency and consistency. With Aspect of the Lion, Sniper Training, and Beast Mastery as their most potent runes, Hunters and their loyal pets exhibit formidable damage output.

As the Season of Discovery progresses, the class rankings may shift as new phases and content are introduced. The cheap WoW SoD Gold provided by MMOexp brings great convenience to players,, ensuring an engaging and dynamic experience for players in World of Warcraft's Classic Era.
