I was looking at some similar concepts and decided I could possibly add some ideas.

The steps to take to apply for specific capabilities:

1. Drag the weapon and then drop it on your bar of abilities.

Don't use the weapon, or take it from the box.

Calculate damage using the stats and benefits of the weapon inside the box, not based on what you're wearing.

This gives you greater options for weapon variety because you will be equipped with a range of capabilities that are all usable without switching. The game determines damage the same way as when you switch.

Ex. you're wearing wand and orb, and are carrying an item box that holds bow and a staff.

If a skill can be accessed through what you're wearing, and if there are.

There are no perks included within the box that relate to this capability will be used to calculate the damage you're wearing.

B, the bonus items in the box that can be used to activate this ability, will utilize the stats of the weapon that the perk is affixed to for calculating damage.

If an ability requires the use of staff members, then determine damage by taking the stats of that staff.

If you have an ability with a range that is compatible with a bow, it will calculate damage based on the bow's stats.

If there are several items that fit the default logic (ex. you use a staff capability but the box is containing two staves) choose the one with the highest weapon's level.

The whole thing is a bit messes up EoFs however jagex could find a way to better balance things.
