We're just a few days away in 2022 and Jagex is already making big changes to the RuneScape world. From January 4, the Oasis Restoration event will be active and the Duel Arena will be renamed Het's Oasis as a place to learn Agility, Hunter and Farming.

Community Event instructs players to restore their location after a catastrophic earthquake hit the country, destroying the Duel Arena. After two weeks, RuneScape will officially rename this area as the Oasis of Heta, which will bring a new landscape, new skill methods, and some new mini-quests.

If you join the restoration effort, you can earn tons of individual and community rewards.

“It all starts with our two-week renovation event where you remove a dilapidated dueling arena to create a sparkling desert paradise,” said Jagex. "The focal point of the event is the Community Crate where players can unlock individual and community rewards by completing quests or participating in permanent skills in an oasis."

These awards include a crocodile, a new title, cosmetics with a desert theme, and even a pair of crocodile shoes.

Duel Arena joined RuneScape in 2004 and has been the staple of the game ever since. This gave the community the opportunity to fight singles and bet on the results - giving the game a unique PvP form, rarely seen in the genre.
